Does microtargeting harm democracy?

In the context of the CPDP 2019 Conference on Data Protection and Democracy

<Forum Privacy> is an interdisciplinary German research consortium funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to address the increasingly urgent questions of privacy and data protection. It provides a platform for exchange between academics, policy-makers, technologists and citizens.

In the context of this year’s CPDP, International Conference on Computers, Privacy and Data Protection, Forum Privacy invites academics, data protection authorities, business executives, policy makers, journalists and citizens to discuss to what extent microtargeting may influence and even harm democratic processes, and how regulators, political actors and citizens should respond to it.
