Dr. Hendrik Hansmeier

Since 2019, Hendrik Hansmeier has been working with Fraunhofer ISI in the Competence Center "Policy and Society", researching regional innovation dynamics in the context of structural change and sustainability transitions. In regional, national and international research projects, Hendrik Hansmeier analyses the emergence and impact of innovations and innovative start-ups from a geographical perspective. His work focuses on the analysis of innovation-based regional development, the elaboration of (regional) innovation strategies and the evaluation of research, technology and innovation policies.

Hendrik Hansmeier received his PhD from the University of Hannover in 2023 with a dissertation on eco-innovation activities of incumbents and start-ups in a regional comparison. He previously studied economic geography at the Universities of Hannover and Krakow and geography at the University of Marburg.
