Forschung und Innovation – Südtirol 2030

The project aims at the identification and design of a development-plan for the research and innovation area South Tyrol and the elaboration of a corresponding strategy. The strategy must provide suitable development goals for the year 2030 and must include South Tyrol's innovation strategy for Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) according to current European regulations. The main objectives of the strategy development process are therefore

to create knowledge as an orientation for the future development of the region's environment
Identify common direction for all relevant key actors
Define goals and milestones for the innovation strategy in the context of Smart Specialisation
Develop measures to achieve the goals
Develop instruments for measuring the achievement of the goals

Task

The objectives result in the following scientifically based support of the implementation of the process of strategy development by Fraunhofer ISI:

Analysis of the current situation and implementation of a 360° trend analysis (STEEP) to determine external influences and future framework conditions
Mapping of the innovation environment and involvement of the main actors from research and innovation
Identification of a development plan for the year 2030 for the development of South Tyrol in the areas of research and innovation, including the development of strategic goals for the innovation strategy for Smart Specialisation
Identification of milestones and development of measures in a corresponding roadmap
Development of an integrated monitoring system to supervise and evaluate the achievement of objectives within the innovation strategy
Successful integration of all key regional players from research and innovation
