Project

Platform-based systems knowledge for expanding global innovation networks for circular value creation (Circle4Value)

As a scientific project, Circle4Value performs a cross-cutting function within the CircularGlowUp funding initiative. The project investigates how circular value creation emerges, functions and scales in global innovation networks. To this end, the research and development findings of the international EUREKA collaborative projects are consolidated, systematically analysed and made accessible to companies, research organisations, associations and other stakeholders. In addition to technological solutions, the project focuses in particular on systemic interdependencies, circular business models, digital product passports, the assessment of circular systems and capacity building. Digital networking and learning services support exchange, skills development and the transfer of knowledge into practice.

The objective is to establish a platform-based global innovation network that generates systems knowledge on circular value creation, links it to the findings of the EUREKA collaborative projects and makes it accessible to other stakeholders. To this end, a networking platform featuring methods, research findings, and matching and configuration functions will be developed, together with a learning platform for training and raising awareness among different stakeholder groups. At the same time, practice-oriented tools will be provided for the life cycle assessment of circular systems, the creation of digital product passports, the development of circular business models and the design of effective innovation networks. A learning network will transfer the results in particular to companies, employees and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The project combines systems and network analyses with method development, digital platform solutions and application-oriented transfer formats. The findings of the EUREKA collaborative projects are systematically recorded, comparatively analysed and placed within the international specialist discourse. Building on this, methods and tools will be developed and tested for the life cycle assessment of logistics processes, the cost-benefit assessment of digital product passports, the development of circular business models at network level, and the matching and configuration of innovation networks. In addition, digital learning services, training courses, short videos, exchange formats and transfer activities will be implemented for companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, associations and regional hubs.
