Lin Zheng

Researcher

Since 2020, Lin Zheng has been working as a researcher and PhD candidate in the Business Unit Renewable Energies of the Department of Energy Policy and Energy Markets.

Her research work focuses on analyzing energy system scenarios and transformation pathways, the modelling of the hydrogen market and evaluating and designing support instruments for renewable energies and hydrogen.

Lin Zheng studied Environment and Energy (B.Sc.) at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, focusing on energy technologies and economics. She then worked as a project assistant at the Institute for Economic and Technological Cooperation with China for two years. She subsequently studied Water Science and Engineering (M.Sc.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), focusing on water technologies and the urban water cycle. In 2019, she completed her Master's thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI on the topic »Evaluation and Analysis of Innovative Solutions on Big German Wastewater Treatment Plants and Their Integration on The Energy Perspectives«. Since 2020, she has been undertaking a Phd at Utrecht University (the Netherlands) on the topic of »The Role of Hydrogen in Decarbonisation – An Analysis for China«.
