Project Manager, Coordinator of Business Unit Policy Design and Evaluation
Dr. Susanne Bührer has been employed at the Fraunhofer ISI since 1996, since 2010 as head of the Business Unit “Policy Design and Evaluation“. Prior to working for the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft she studied politics, sociology and history at the University of Stuttgart (Degree Master of Arts) and obtained her doctorate at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) where she worked on a research project on “migration potentials“.
Susanne Bührer has been working in the area of research and innovation policy with a focus on programme evaluations and human resources for many years. As a project manager at the Fraunhofer ISI her expertise lie in processing and directing third-party funded projects for German and international clients. In addition to evaluation projects such as the intermediate and final evaluation of the Bavarian Cluster Offensive (2008/2009 and 2010) and the project “INNO APPRAISAL – Understanding Evaluation of Innovation Policy in Europe“ (2010), funded by the EU, she has been involved with numerous projects on questions of “Gender and Innovations“, as for example “Gender opportunities. On using the potential of gender in the innovation system (2007-2009)“, “Corporate culture – avoiding career breaks (2010-2012)“, “Innovation Indicator 2012“ as well as the “Interim Evaluation of the Science in Society Programme“ (2012), commissioned by the European Commission.
