Dr. Claus Doll

Coordinator of Business Unit Mobility

Claus Doll PhD earned a degree in business economics at the University of Karlsruhe (TH), Germany in 1996. Here he started his professional career as research fellow and project manager in the field of transport economics at the Institute for Economic Policy Research (IWW). In 2004 he has elaborated his dissertation on transport infrastructure cost allocation and game theory at the Faculty for Economics. From 2005 on Claus Doll is working as senior researcher and project manager at Fraunhofer ISI's Competence Center Sustainability and Infrastructure Systems . Here he has co-founded the Business Unit Mobility, which he has been heading since May 2015. He is chairing the Working Group on Mobility of the Fraunhofer Transportation Alliance and is active in several international networks, such as the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS), the U.S. Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI).

  • During his professional activities Claus Doll has gained in-depth experiences in the fields of transport modelling, scenario development and forecasting, infrastructure accounting and transportation cost analysis and policy design in the fields of traffic safety, congestion, climate and environmental effects, external costs, economic impacts, acceptability, business models, new technologies, innovation deployment and policy strategies. Through numerous national and international projects on behalf of the EU, NGOs, the transport industry and national ministries Claus Doll has established a vital international collaboration network of competence in the field of transport economics.
