In-depth Analyses for the EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard
The general objective of the present study is to develop and refine complementary indicators and analyses to the EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard, which will provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics and trends of R&D investments of Scoreboard companies, as well as it will address sustainability and competitiveness issues. A particular focus is placed on the de facto distribution of R&D activity across subsidiaries (and hence Member States) rather than their legal registration in headquarters.
The study includes a series of reports with a contextualized and granular picture of European and global R&D-intensive industries and respective companies linked to the Scoreboard. The reports include a focus on SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups, sustainability reporting and public funding. These new indicators and analyses shall put the European Commission in a better position to understand the key drivers that influence R&D investments, how to improve business, regulatory and R&I environments.
