The Futures of AI – Implications for Europe’s R&I Ecosystem and Policy is a project to conduct a forward-looking analysis of AI’s role across European industries. The aim of the project is to examine impacts of AI on the R&I ecosystem and oppor-tunities for strategic policy development.

Fraunhofer ISI supports the activities with a Scenario Sprint and a sense-making approach.

Specific tasks include the exploration of trends in the context of AI development, mapping of AI uptake across sectors, forward-looking analysis and the development of scenarios as well as drawing EU R&I policy implications and generating actionable policy recommendations for a future-ready R&I landscape. By combining quantitative analysis, expert insights and scenario planning, the project delivers robust intelligence to support EU policymakers in navigating AI’s future.
