Marvin Helferich

Researcher

Since July 2022, Marvin Helferich has been working as a researcher and PhD candidate in the Business Unit Actors and Social Acceptance in the Transformation of the Energy System in the Department of Energy Policy and Energy Markets.

His work focuses on the transformation of the mobility system, with a particular emphasis on the role of individual and cultural factors. To this end, he uses both quantitative and qualitative methods.

In his dissertation, he examines the interplay between aspects of mobility culture, perceptions of mobility policy measures, and sustainable mobility behavior based on data from the MobilKULT project.

Marvin Helferich studied Business Psychology (B.Sc.) with a focus on environmental psychology at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and Psychological Science (M.Sc.) at Gothenburg University (Sweden). In his Master's thesis which he completed in 2022, he meta-analyzed the role of personal and social norms in explaining individual pro-environmental behavior.
