Researcher
Emily Tapper has been working as a research assistant in the Innovation Financing Unit since October 2021, initially for the Fraunhofer Centre for International Management and Knowledge Economy IMW. Since May 2025, she has been working as a researcher in the now renamed Crowd Innovation Unit at Fraunhofer ISI in Leipzig, focusing on open innovation, crowdfunding and crowdsourcing. Through her bachelor's degree in business education and her active project work, Emily Tapper gained extensive practical experience in designing and conducting workshops as well as in knowledge transfer and university teaching. She earned her master's degree in business administration with a focus on marketing and services. Both her bachelor's and master's theses focused on civic crowdfunding, a special form of crowd financing in the public sector. Since November 2023, she has been involved in the Crowd Innovation Project, which aims to strengthen knowledge and technology transfer through crowd-based instruments. This includes, in particular, the design and implementation of the annual Crowd Innovation Summit event format.
