Dr. Norman Bedtke

Dr. Norman Bedtke has been with Fraunhofer since May 2019 and is a member of the “Crowd Innovation” unit at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in Leipzig. His work focuses on open innovation, crowdsourcing, and knowledge and technology transfer.

In this role, he develops, tests, and evaluates participatory formats that engage external stakeholders in innovation and transfer processes. His particular focus is on designing and applying methods that generate new perspectives, ideas, and opportunities for research, business and society.

Dr. Bedtke studied Economics at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, specializing in innovation economics and graduated with a degree in Economics. Before joining Fraunhofer, he worked as a research scientist at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, where his research focused on environmental economics, social science-based water research and sustainability transitions.
