Linda Widdel

Research Fellow

Linda Widdel worked as a researcher in the Department of Policy and Society at Fraunhofer ISI from 2020 to 2025. Since 2023, she has been pursuing her PhD at the Technical University of Munich, where she is affiliated with the Chair of Public Policy for the Green Transition. Her research focuses on green transitions, with a particular emphasis on technology phase-outs and the social and political conditions that enable them. In addition, she works on environmental and biodiversity governance as well as energy policy, including previous publications on the coal phase-out. She studied Political Science (LMU Munich) and Democracy and Global Transformations (University of Helsinki), and gained international experience through study and research stays at the University of California, Berkeley, and ETH Zurich.
