Manish Khanra holds a Masters of Science degree in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for the Middle East and North Africa Region from the University of Kassel, where he completed an exchange semester at the University of Cairo. In 2020, Manish completed his Master's thesis, 'Portfolio Optimization for the Investment in District Heating Supply Systems', as part of the 'Transformation paths in the Heat Sector' project funded by BMWi.

Since November 2020, he has been working as a researcher in the Competence Center Energy Technology and Energy Systems associated with the Business Unit Energy Management and Smart Grids, with a focus on integrating renewable energy into the energy system for the decarbonisation of Hard-to-Abate sectors.
