Dr. Tobias Fleiter

Coordinator of Business Unit Demand Analyses and Projections

Tobias Fleiter began work at the Fraunhofer ISI in the Competence Center Energy Technology and Energy Systems in 2007 and coordinates the business unit for energy demand analysis and forecasts since 2013. He has a master's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Flensburg and obtained his PhD in 2012 at Utrecht University on the topic “The adoption of energy-efficient technologies by firms”. His research focuses on energy systems analysis and in particular the modelling of industrial energy transitions and techno-economic analysis with regard to industrial energy efficiency. He worked in numerous research and consultancy projects among others for several DGs of the EU Commission, German Ministries and national and regional level, energy utilities in Germany and Europe and the German environmental Agency.

Tobias Fleiter has a longstanding experience in coordinating research and consulting projects for companies, governmental institutions and research funds. He has published peer-reviewed articles on industrial energy efficiency, industry decarbonisation and modelling as well as the broader transition to a sustainable heating and cooling sector.
