Dr. Frank Sensfuß

Since October 2023 Dr. Frank Sensfuß has been Head of the Department of Energy Policy and Energy Markets at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, where he was also Coordinator of the Business Unit Electricity Markets and Infrastructures until February 2025. From February 2019 to September 2023 he has been Deputy Head of the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets. He studied Energy and Environmental Management at the University of Flensburg and Export Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark. He received his doctoral degree in economics (Dr. rer. pol.) at the University of Karlsruhe in 2007. His current areas of work include research related to renewable energy sources and the development of energy-related models, especially agent-based simulation platforms.
