Matia Riemer, M.Sc.

Researcher

Matia Riemer is a researcher in the business unit Climate Policy in the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets. In her work, she focuses on the evaluation of future global and regional climate protection scenarios and transformation pathways.

She studied business administration with a minor in economics (B.Sc., M.Sc.) as well as energy engineering (M.Sc.) in Cologne, Helsinki and London. In her studies, she focused on the economic and technical evaluation of innovative energy technologies to decarbonize the energy system.

Between 2019 and 2021, she worked as a researcher at the European Institute for Energy Research in Karlsruhe. Her research focus included the evaluation of environmental impacts of innovative energy technologies (such as hydrogen technologies) as well as techno-economic analyses of flexibility options for future energy systems. Since 2021, she is a researcher in the business unit Climate Policy at Fraunhofer ISI.
