Dr. Sabine Preuß

Researcher

Since 2025, Dr. Sabine Preuß has been head of the Business Unit Actors and Social Acceptance in the Transformation of the Energy System in the Department of Energy Policy and Energy Markets. Since 2019, she has been working as a researcher and project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI. Currently, she serves as the gender equality manager at the institute.

Her research focuses on the human factor in the energy transition as she investigates the acceptance of various policies and technologies. She is passionate about research on diversity, just transition and considerations of vulnerable groups in the energy transition. Methodologically, she works primarily with quantitative surveys and experiments and also applies qualitative methods of empirical social research.

In 2018, she gained scientific experience in EU projects in the department “Research & Data” at the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in Vienna. In 2020, she successfully completed her PhD on “Interventions for Attitude Change” in the department of Social, Environmental and Economic Psychology at the University of Koblenz-Landau. There, she was a lecturer with a doctoral scholarship from the Studienstiftung and completed various research stays in the U.S..

Sabine Preuß studied Psychology (Bachelor of Science) at the University Koblenz-Landau and completed the dual master’s programme "International Cognitive Visualization" at the University Koblenz-Landau, the Université Pierre-Mendès-France Grenoble (France, Master of Educational Sciences), and the California State University Chico (U.S., Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies).
