Mara Schwind studied Communication Science at the University of Passau and was subsequently a research assistant at the Chair of Science Communication there from 2021 to 2024. In addition to teaching activities and projects for internal and external stakeholders, she conducted research on various communication science issues using qualitative and quantitative social science methods. In her doctorate, which she completed in 2025, she focussed on negative reactions in social media directed against scientists. From 2023 to 2024, she was also a research assistant at the Think Tank of the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation in Munich. Since July 2024, Mara Schwind has been part of the scientific staff of the institute director at Fraunhofer ISI.
