Project

Supporting Europe's Effort in Blockchain/DLT Standardisation

SEEBLOCKS.eu aims at delivering a targeted, democratic initiative to support European interests in standardisation in the Blockchain/ DLT domain. The 24-month project builds on mature premises brought in by the Consortium and implements a focussed workplan revolving around 3 pillars: a) Deliver an effective European Observatory of ICT standardisation of Blockchain/DLT standards; b) Set-up a merit-driven facility to provide financial support of 40+ EU organisations/experts in the field; c) Create an engaged knowledge sharing community, supported by robust assets.

Impact: Stronger participation of EU stakeholders in the field, as per the Call Topic, leveraging on the stimulation of a rich discussion conducted at Technical Working Group level, effectively bridging the gap between the Research, Academia and Standardisation Communities, and ultimately sustaining capacity building of blockchain experts to funnel innovations into standards activities.

Expert support from a specialised subcontractor and a Strategy Board driven by the European constituencies in the field complete the team organisation.

Further outputs: 2 annual impact events; 4 workshops (2 organised in Europe one in the US and one in Australia); 12 webinars; the Blockchain Policy Roadmap; 70 established synergies with R&I projects, fuelling the TCs & WGs; 75 best practices and 2 impact reports; an engaged multi-stakeholder community of 3,000+ members.
