Malte Besler

Malte Besler studied Economics and Political Science (B.A.) at the University of Göttingen and Sustainability Economics and Management (M.A.) at the University of Oldenburg. Since 2022, he has been working as a scientist in the Sustainability Innovation and Policy research unit at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI. His main focus is on analysing macroeconomic impacts of the Circular Economy, combining Input-Output analyses with Stock-and-Flow models. In his PhD, his research focusses on case studies about information and communication technologies and electric vehicle batteries. As a visiting researcher at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Seville, he used the model FIDELIO to investigate the macroeconomic impact of the Circular Economy for the European steel cycle.
