Felix Kleff

Felix Kleff has been a research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI since March 2026, working in the Climate-Neutral Buildings business unit of the Energy Technologies and Energy Systems department. He is involved in national and international research and consultancy projects.

His specialist focus lies in the accelerated implementation of the electrification of building heating, the structural requirements necessary for this, and dynamic system simulation. As part of his work, he is committed to phasing out as many fossil fuels as possible from the energy system through the efficient use of renewable energies.

Felix Kleff studied timber construction and finishing at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and energy-efficient and sustainable construction at HAWK Holzminden, where he graduated in 2021. In his Master’s thesis, entitled ‘Analysis of direct evaporative recirculating air systems with photovoltaic installations for classroom climate control’, he developed a concept for the minimally invasive electrification and solarisation of thermal climate control in school buildings, whilst maintaining high indoor air quality. He also completed training as an energy consultant, thereby deepening his knowledge of the energy assessment and renovation of buildings.
