Jakob Ehrcke

Jakob Ehrcke has been working as a researcher and doctoral candidate in the Business Unit Renewable Energies in the Department of Energy Policy and Energy Markets since September 2026.

He studied spatial planning (M.Sc.) at the Technical University of Vienna and earned a degree in Urban and Rural Development Planning (M.Eng.) from Tongji University in Shanghai. He also spent a year in Beijing, where he studied Chinese at Peking University and worked for the local BDI representative office. 

Before joining Fraunhofer ISI, he worked as a project developer in the wind energy sector in Europe and in international cooperation at GIZ.
