Researcher
Since 2021, Frederic Berger has been working as researcher and PhD candidate in the Business Unit Energy Policy in the Department of Energy Policy and Energy Markets. He has predominantly focused on socially acceptable implementation of climate and energy policy measures, as well as the multiple impacts of energy efficiency with a focus at the urban level.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Geophysics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, specializing in shallow geothermal energy. He then studied Urban Planning at postgraduate level at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, using data-driven methods to analyze urban processes, in particular socio-economic segregation. During his studies, he worked and published on the topic of royalties and sustainability in the German mining legislation regarding fossil fuels.
