Denis Stijepic studied economics at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt (a.M.). From 2007 to 2019, he was a researcher and teaching assistant at the Macroeconomics Department of the University of Hagen (since 2011 a post-doc), where he focused on the following research topics: (a) neoclassical and system-theoretical modeling of the dynamics of economic structures, (b) interactions across the economic, socio-cultural, political, and ecological systems, as well as (c) applications of the resulting models in the analysis of, e.g., structural change, intermediate trade, offshoring, ageing, sustainability, inequality dynamics, economic growth and economic development in general. In 2019, Denis Stijepic joined the competence center Sustainability and Infrastructure Systems at Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI as a researcher.
