Director of Fraunhofer ISI appointed a member of the research committee at the German Council of Science and Humanities

Professor Marion A. Weissenberger-Eibl, director of Fraunhofer ISI and Professor for Innovation and Technology Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT, is now supporting the work of the research committee at the German Council of Science and Humanities. In particular, the innovation researcher can contribute her expertise to producing the position paper on the topic of “application-oriented research”.

The research committee at the German Council of Science and Humanities is responsible for producing position papers on current developments in the organization and support of research at universities and non-university institutions. In future, Professor Weissenberger-Eibl will contribute to work on the paper concerning application-oriented research that is used by the German Council of Science and Humanities for its evaluations and recommendations for the further development of the institutional structure of science and research.

“I believe the regular position statements made by the German Council of Science and Humanities concerning the organization, support and evaluation of research in the public sector are extremely important. So I am delighted to be able to support this committee’s activities,” says Prof. Weissenberger-Eibl. She goes on to emphasize: “I am happy to contribute my expertise, skills and know-how as Fraunhofer ISI’s director and professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT to the analyses and recommendations on the structure and developments of important fields of science”.
