Thorben Steiger has been a research associate in the Energy Technologies and Energy Systems department at Fraunhofer ISI since 2025.
His research focuses on the interaction between electricity grids and electrification in the context of decarbonizing energy-intensive industries and other transformation strategies.
He studied Industrial Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin (M.Sc.) and spent a semester abroad at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
His master's thesis, written at Fraunhofer ISE, examined the Quantitative validation of a transmission grid model for effective grid planning in Germany.
