Florian Schreiner

Researcher

Florian Schreiner (Dr.-Ing.) studied mechanical and process engineering, with a focus on energy and environmental engineering and renewable energies, at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). From 2014 to 2019, he did his PhD at the department of electrical engineering and information technology of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. His PhD work took place in the context of a cooperation project with an industrial company and focused on increasing the energy efficiency of industrial processes that require very high direct currents and have correspondingly high electrical losses. The project resulted in a practical implementation in a demonstrator setup as part of a chlorine electrolysis at a German chemical company.

After completing his PhD, Mr. Schreiner worked for ITK Engineering GmbH in the automotive environment for almost two years from 2019 to 2021. He worked as a project manager in a project for a German sports car manufacturer on the functional safety of high-voltage batteries of future battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Since June 2021, he has been a scientific researcher in the business unit »Demand Response and Smart Grids« in the Competence Center »Energy Technology and Energy Systems« at Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI.
