The Business Unit Future Alternatives and Society explores futures for society in its complexity and openness. The focus is on the examination of the future interplay of social domains such as civil society, economy, politics, technology and environment. Our clients receive systematic search results, analyses and assessments of social change as well as future alternatives. The Business Unit is led by Lorenz Erdmann.

The Business Unit Futures Thinking and Dialogs develops alternative scenarios for branches, actors or subject fields (research and innovation, civil security or new materials, among others). An important component of our research and consultation projects is the analysis of future expectations and the relevant structures with their dynamics and interaction. This forms the starting point for dialogs in which future blueprints are outlined and evaluated together with the stakeholders. The Business Unit is led by Dr. Philine Warnke.

The Business Unit Foresight for Strategy Development supports decision-making under uncertain conditions by developing and conducting foresight-based strategy processes for clients from industry, politics and science. Strategy scenarios and roadmaps are developed and markets and trends analyzed in order to explore decision options. The Business Unit is led by Dr. Ewa Dönitz.
