Experience

Dr. Stephanie Daimer is a senior researcher in the Competence Centre Policy - Industry - Innovation at the Fraunhofer Institute of Systems and Innovation Research ISI since 2008. As a political scientist, she focuses on the analysis and evaluation of national and European research and innovation (R&I) policies. She has worked for example on the Internationalization of Research in particular in the context of the European Research Area (ERA) as well as on Knowledge and Technology Transfer in the German R&I system. In 2008 she received her doctoral degree from the University of Mannheim. In her doctoral thesis, she applied actor-centered analyses based on decision-theoretic approaches to legislative processes in the European Union. From 2012 to 2015, she has coordinated the Forward Visions on the European Research Area – VERA project (FP7). Since 2013, she is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Forum for Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation (Eu-SPRI) and in 2014 she has been appointed to the expert group Foresight on Key long-term Transformations of European systems: Research, Innovation and Higher Education (KT2050) appointed by the European Commission. From 2011 to 2014 she has coordinated the Evaluation study of the funding measure Validation of the Innovation Potential of Scientific Research – VIP for the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).
