Dr. Niclas Meyer

Project Manager


Dr. Niclas Meyer works as a project manager at the Competence Center for Policy - Industry - Innovation at the Fraunhofer ISI, which he joined in 2012. His current research focuses on the digitalization of manufacturing. In this context he works on digital business model innovations as well as the analysis of standardization processes in the context of industry 4.0. His interests also include the evluation of innovation policies.

In 2012, he completed a Ph.D. thesis on private regulatory processes, at the example of European standardization, at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). During his Ph.D. he taught economic policy-making in the EU and international economics at the LSE and the University of Maastricht. Previously he obtained a master's degree in European political economy (MSc) from the LSE. He also holds a bachelor's degree in European Studies (BA) from the University of Maastricht. In 2014, Dr. Meyer joined the board of the European Academy for Standardisation e.V. (EURAS), which was founded in 1993 to promote multidisciplinary research on standardization. Dr. Meyer also manages the Fraunhofer ISI's Innovation course.
