Quanten(t)räume (Quantum Spaces/Dreams) – Networked Outreach Concept for Application Potentials of Quantum Technologies

What areas of application can quantum computers bring advantages in, and how could this influence society? Where can quantum sensors be used? What does quantum communication mean for our information security?

The joint project «Quanten(t)räume» (Quantum spaces/dreams) aims to address these and other questions and use innovative outreach formats to explore the future application potential of second-generation quantum technologies (QT) and their possible impact on the economy and society in a collaborative effort between specialists and the interested public.

Fraunhofer ISI supports the overall objectives of the project-consortium with the following activities:

  1. Conception, testing and further development of a participatory format for the development of future scenarios for possible applications of 2nd generation quantum technologies as a basis for the discussion of innovation potentials and societal implications.
  2. Conception, testing and realisation of innovative, target group-oriented events for interested young people for the co-creative development of «everyday stories from the future» (future stories) and their creative design in various forms.
  3. Support in the conception and implementation of further participatory outreach formats of the project partners, in particular with foresight methods (e.g., interactive format «Quanten-Dienstag» (Quantum Tuesday), science communication training for young scientists, game development, exhibition content).
